My name is Kenny

It’s an old nickname from high school. Apparently Kendalyn was “too long” to yell across the soccer field and so a few upperclassmen started calling me Kenny. It stuck. I think it suites me.

I’m not an elite athlete, typically finishing in the middle of the pack, but I love the logistics, planning, and dedication it takes to tackle an ultra. I find the most joy in accomplishing a goal you have set for yourself that at first seems unachievable. Surprising yourself with what you are able to do teaches you that you are capable of so much more in other parts of your life. That’s what running truly gives me. Well, that and all the other health benefits as well as some pretty good looking legs.

I live in Asheville and I am so thankful to be a short drive from so many beautiful trails. The Western North Carolina area is absolutely incredible and I am so lucky to live here.

When I’m not running, I enjoy hanging out with my wife, taking my dog on a walk, playing pickleball, and reading a really good horror book with my cat by my side.
